Certified Homemaker - Health Aide (CHHA)/ Personal Care Assistant

Inviting someone into your home to care for a loved one is a big decision. A Certified Homemaker-Health Aide (CHHA) provides compassionate, respectful support that helps individuals remain safe, comfortable, and independent in the place they know best — home.

What Does a Certified Homemaker-Health Aide (CHHA) Do?

Our CHHAs assist with everyday needs such as:

  • Personal care (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting)

  • Safe mobility and transfer assistance

  • Meal preparation and feeding support

  • Light housekeeping and laundry

  • Medication reminders

  • Grocery shopping, prescription pick-up, and essential errands.

  • Companionship and emotional support

  • Monitoring and reporting changes in condition

Beyond tasks, our caregivers bring patience, kindness, and reassurance — offering families peace of mind knowing their loved one is cared for with dignity and respect.

All care is provided under the supervision of a Registered Nurse to ensure quality and safety at every step.

What CHHAs Do Not Do

CHHAs do not perform advanced medical procedures such as:

  • Administering IV medications

  • Performing sterile wound care

  • Making medical diagnoses

These tasks are handled by licensed medical professionals.

Why CHHAs Are So Important

Certified Homemaker-Health Aides make it possible for individuals to:

  • Remain in their homes longer

  • Maintain independence

  • Avoid unnecessary hospitalizations

  • Receive compassionate, personalized care

They are a vital part of the healthcare support system.
